*Khadraj NA offspring made a good showing at the 2008 U.S. National Championship Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nineteen get entered 27 classes taking home a total of three National Championships, three Reserve National Championships and thirteen Top Ten awards. Of the thirteen Top Tens, three were for purebred halter titles, five were for purebred performance titles and five were for Half-Arabian performance titles.
Perhaps most impressive was the diversity of the wins, among both the major and the minor titles. Championships included Khardinal Sin’s (x Sumis Violet by My America) two rose-winning performances in the HA Hunter Pleasure AAOTR 40 & Over and the HA Hunter Pleasure Junior Horse. Khardinal Sin is owned by Wayne and Karen Lee and ridden by Karen Lee and Wendy Potts. The five-year-old bay gelding was also a Top Ten in the HA Hunter Pleasure AAOTR Maturity. The other National Champion *Khadraj NA offspring at the 2008 Nationals was Kharrea PGA (x Gai Portia by Gai Monarch), winner of the roses in the PB Futurity Filly class. Reserve National winners were an even more diverse group, with titles going to Broken Promises PGA (x Promise V by Huckleberry Bey) in the PB Junior Halter Mares, Khontroversy PGA (x Enfenee by Barzik) in the PB Western Pleasure and RA Lanai (x Sablefire by Fire On Ice) in the PB Reined Cow Horse. RA Lanai, ridden by Thiago Sobral for owner Alexandra Vinck, was also a Top Ten in the PB Reining Horse.
Additionally, *Khadraj NA competitors took Top Ten awards in both the purebred and Half-Arabian Western Pleasure Junior Horse classes, the PB Western Pleasure Futurity and the PB Halter Mares, AOTH.
The winners listed were out of a very diverse group of broodmares, suggesting that *Khadraj NA brings athletic character and correct conformation to his offspring, improving on, but at the same time emphasizing the best of the dam’s contributions. This is much the same breeding character that made *Aladdinn such a powerful breeding influence in the Arabian breed twenty years ago in America.
